SFCC Facilities
SFCC offers a wide range of facilities for members, centred Son the historic Brunel Tower, a landmark on the western shore of the River Exe Estuary at Starcross. All facilities are accessible to members 24 hours a day via a secure entry system.
Ashes Quay, adjacent to the westbound platform at Starcross station, provides access at all states of the tide. Members can use the pontoon at low water or the launching ramp at higher tides. Facilities include secure dinghy and engine storage, a scrubbing grid, drying‑out berths for larger vessels, and inshore trot moorings for craft up to 23ft (available annually).
The Brunel Landing Pontoon offers easy water access from Ashes Quay. Finger berths for dinghies and small vessels are limited and subject to a waiting list—please contact the Rear Commodore for availability.
A slipway south of the pier provides direct access to the front of the Clubhouse via a causeway at low water. This is the main launching route from the Tower and is ideal for members who keep or store their dinghies on site.
Parking is available at the front of the Clubhouse, with additional secure dinghy storage in a locked compound at the rear.
Inside the Brunel Tower, the ground floor houses dinghy and engine storage, showers and toilets, a fish room, and member‑use launching trolleys. The first floor, accessible by stairs or powered stair lift, includes the Clubhouse Bar, additional toilets with disabled facilities, a function room with a full‑length skittle alley, and a fully equipped commercial kitchen.
The Clubhouse Bar, rich in original Brunel features, is the social heart of the club—a welcoming space where members relax, plan adventures, and share stories.
